AFC Ecoplastics, a new member of An Phat Holdings (APH) based in Texas, the US, will officially cooperate with Nexeo Plastics – a leading global thermoplastics resin distributor – to distribute bioplastics throughout Canada, Mexico and the US.

These bio-compounds meet ASTM D6400 for industrial composting and grades that are 30 per cent biobased and 80 per cent biobased, which are often ideal options for applications such as cutlery, straws, caps and closures.

Nirav Patel, CEO of AFC Ecoplastics and a member of the APH’s Board of Directors, said: “Nexeo Plastics is known as a leader in new technologies for plastics processors, and we are pleased to be part of a relationship to bring new, innovative compostable and biodegradable compounds to the marketplace”.

Arturo Hoyo, Nexeo Plastics’ Vice President of Product Line Management, said: “Our company is committed to providing customers with a large variety of high performing resins and compounds, including sustainable alternatives for single-use applications”.

APH’s Chairman Pham Anh Duong said: "North America, especially the US, has always been our strategic goal in expanding the international market. The compostable materials and products have been our strength for more than a decade. With new investments, we will certainly bring different values in the supply chain for global green materials application”.

An Phat Holdings positions the Americas as a key market, with a special focus on the US, Canada and Mexico for packaging products and bioplastics. It has successfully registered a trademark for the AnEco – the first Viet Nam’s compostable product brand in the US.

This cooperation with Nexeo Plastics continues to mark an important step in expanding and penetrating the American market.

An Phat Holdings is the leading company in the field of advanced plastic production technology and environment-friendly plastic products, serving a diverse customer base across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. — VNS
