AkzoNobel, a leading global paint and coatings company and the maker of Dulux, has announced continued support for young people at SOS Children’s Villages across Viet Nam with a skills training programme.

It will be implemented under the company’s global AkzoNobel Cares initiative, which has supported SOS Children’s Villages since 2017.

The month-long training will begin at the end of December with a series of lessons and workshops for around 200 people aged between 18 and 20 focusing on soft and vocational skills.

Most tutors will be experienced volunteers from AkzoNobel.

Stephanie Kraneveld, global marketing manager communications & activation at AkzoNobel, said, “With AkzoNobel Cares we focus on inspiring, uplifting and renovating communities through our Let’s Colour initiative, as well as educating, mentoring and training future generations.

“The partnership with SOS Children’s Villages is an example of a shared effort through which we use education and training to drive a positive impact on the issue of youth unemployment and build better futures for young people in need.

Nguyen Thi My Lan, general director of AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Vietnam, said: “We hope the training courses this year will help strengthen their employability and open a path to a brighter future.” — VNS
