HÀ NỘI — Embraer, a global aerospace leader headquartered in Brazil, will showcase its portfolio of defence aircraft and solutions, including the C-390 Millennium multi-mission military transport aircraft and the A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft along with reconnaissance and advanced training aircraft, at the Việt Nam Defence Expo 2024 from December 19 to 22.

This participation reflects the strengthening bilateral relations between Brazil and Việt Nam.

On the sidelines of the recent G20 Summit in Brazil, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with Embraer representatives, highlighting the opportunity for Embraer to further contribute towards Việt Nam’s aerospace ambitions.

“Embraer is honoured to participate in the Việt Nam Defence Expo 2024 and warmly congratulates the Việt Nam People’s Army on its 80th anniversary,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.

“Việt Nam is a key market for Embraer, and we are committed to contributing to the development of the country's aerospace and defense industry. We look forward to exploring ways to further collaborate and promote technological advancement.”

The C-390 Millennium can carry more payload (26 tonnes) compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft and flies faster (470 knots) and farther, with the capability of performing a wide range of missions such as air logistics support to government agencies, aerial surveillance, transporting and dropping cargo and troops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian missions, operating on temporary or unpaved runways such as packed earth, soil, coral and gravel.

The aircraft is configured with air-to-air refuelling equipment, and can act both as a tanker and as a receiver.

The current fleet of C-390 Millennium aircraft globally has accumulated more than 15,000 flight hours, a 93 per cent mission capability rate and mission completion rates above 99 per cent, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category.

To date, the C-390 has been contracted by South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal and Brazil. — VNS
