HCM CITY — Sacombank has been honoured as one of "Việt Nam’s Top 50 Best-performing Companies in 2024" by Nhịp Cầu Đầu Tư magazine.

This is the third time Sacombank has been included in this prestigious list.

The Top 50 is a highly valued and reputed ranking done annually by the magazine in collaboration with Thiên Việt Securities and in consultation with leading economists and business experts.

To objectively assess the management capacity of enterprises, TOP 50 evaluates businesses’ results for three consecutive fiscal years based on three indicators: revenues, return on equity (ROE) and earnings per share.

Aligning with its goal of becoming a leading modern and versatile retail bank in Việt Nam, Sacombank has relentlessly worked to optimise its operations, accelerated digital transformation in management, and leveraged advanced technologies to elevate the quality of its products and services, delivering exceptional and sustainable value to customers, partners and shareholders.

Sacombank achieved a pre-tax profit of VNĐ9.6 trillion (US$377.5 million) in 2023, a 51.4 per cent increase from the previous year.

Its ROE increased by 4.47 percentage points to 18.3 per cent, and earnings per share was up 72 per cent to VNĐ4,094.

In 2024, Sacombank's pre-tax profit is expected to increase by 30 per cent to top VNĐ12 trillion, and ROE is estimated to be 20 per cent, surpassing the targets approved by its shareholders.

These are remarkable achievements, especially in the context of the economic challenges at home and severe volatility in the international financial markets, the bank said.

According to the award organisers, the Top 50 companies have achieved remarkable growth and made significant contributions to Việt Nam’s economic development.

In addition to being included in the Việt Nam’s Top 50 Best-performing Companies, Sacombank also won several other notable accolades in 2024, including Strong Vietnamese Brand in 2024 by Vietnam Economic Times for the 13th consecutive year, and the Vietnam Outstanding Banking Award for the seventh consecutive year from the International Data Group and the Vietnam Banks Association.

Sacombank was also ranked in the Top 22 Most Valuable Brands in Việt Nam for 2024, and 322nd among the world’s top 500 most valuable brands by Brand Finance, a leading global brand valuation and strategy consultancy. — VNS
