HA NOI - The 2016 WhiteHat Grand Prix, an international competition on cyber security hosted by Vietnamese software developer Bkav, will take place December 17-18.

Participants will compete using the Jeopardy-game format. The first prize winner will receive VND225 million (nearly US$10,000), while the second and third place winners will be awarded VND45 million and VND25 million, respectively.

The contest seeks to promote cooperation, research and human resource training in cyber security, as well as expand Vietnam’s cyber security activities beyond its border.

The contest was held for the first time at the national level in 2014, after which it was launched globally in 2015. The 2015 WhiteHat Grand Prix, entitled “Hello, Viet Nam!”, attracted nearly 500 teams from 67 countries. This year’s competition will be conducted under the theme “Discovering Viet Nam”.
