Microsoft Viet Nam on Wednesday officially launched the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2017, aiming to support talented young people worldwide in using technology to build creative and realistic solutions.

The annual technology contest has become a playground for all students who love software and have programming skills.

Next year marks the 15th edition of the Microsoft Imagine Cup, which is expected to bring new experiences to participants.

It will emphasise the role of cloud computing, with the development of the momentum of the modern economy being the main theme.

Accordingly, project creators are encouraged to utilise the services of Microsoft Azure, one of the most popular cloud-computing platforms.

Microsoft will highlight products, solutions and games that are close to completion and have high commercialization potential.

The winner will be awarded US$100,000, doubling the prize from last year, and will receive support from Microsoft and the other sponsors.

The final round in Viet Nam will be organised in April 2017 to select the three best ideas to contribute to the final round of the Asia-Pacific region. Microsoft will choose the most outstanding team for the world’s final contest in July.
