SINGAPORE (Biz Hub) — Merchandise Director of Giant Singapore Jeffrey Yu has said there are plenty of opportunities to do business in Viet Nam, adding that his company would import more products from the country, especially lichees.

At the inauguration of the Vietnam Food Fair that was held from June 20-26 for the first time in all 66 stores of the Giant supermarket chain, Yu told Vietnam News Agency's Singapore-based reporter that the fair showcased distinctive Vietnamese products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as grocery imports such as noodles, rice paper and chili sauce, all preferred by home chefs.

Joe Tan, general manager of Ban Choon Marketing Pte Ltd, said: "For this fair, we have brought in 40 containers of fruit and vegetables from Viet Nam like pumpkin and sweet potato from Da Lat, and pomelo, lime and dragon fruit from the Mekong region." — VNS
