THANH HOA  (Biz Hub) — Dubai's Magnum Group planned to invest in a world-class sea tourism zone in Truong Le Mountain and South Sam Son coast in the central Thanh Hoa Province.

The provincial People's Committee announced that the project will consist of a golf court complex and a luxury international resort.

Sam Rehani, the group's chairman and general director, visited the province recently to sign an investment agreement with Dong A Real Estate Corporation.

He said the group would send world renowned experts in planning to research and develop the project with an aim to transform Truong Le Mountain to an international resort, the provincial website reports.

He hoped that the province would provide favourable conditions for his company to complete the project on schedule.

Both sides agreed that this project had been an important initial step for the Magnum Group to invest in other areas in the province.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Trinh Van Chien urged both parties to complete necessary procedures to launch the project as quickly as possible.

He said the project's details on area and total investment had not been announced as they were still in the planning stage.

According to a previous plan, the Truong Le Mountain ecological-cultural tourism zone covers an area of about 230 hectare and will be developed into an attractive tourist destination.

Truong Le Mountain is located in the south of Sam Son Town, 16 kilometres from the Thanh Hoa City centre.

FLC Group last month also started construction of the international golf course and resort FLC Sam Son Golf Links in Sam Son in the province.

It covers an area of 92.4 hectares of land located in Quang Cu Commune and is designed to be an 18-hole link-style golf course blended with the landscape, surrounded by trees, lawns, pools and clubs. It will also have hotels and luxurious villas.

The project is expected to be the highlight of the largest golf links-resort-hotel complex in the central area of Viet Nam, covering an area of over 450 hectares with a total investment of nearly VND5.5 trillion (US$261 million).

The province is known as one of the destinations that attracted huge projects, such as Nghi Son Oil Refinery Project, Tho Xuan Airport and FLC Golf course.

It ranks eight out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in attracting FDI, with a total capital of around $16 billion. — VNS
