HA NOI (Biz Hub) – Metro Cash and Carry Viet Nam plans to recruit nearly 2,000 seasonal staff to work at 19 branches across the country, reports Vietnamplus.

The aim reportedly is to improve its customer services during the festive season.

Nguyen Thai Phuong, Metro Cash and Carry operations manager, told Vietnamplus that most of the temporary employees are students from colleges and universities who seek job opportunities during their Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

Each employee will sign a two or three-month contract and will receive on-the-job training. They will work in departments and positions such as sales, customer services, cashier and delivery services.

The hiring plans are part of the company's commitment to invest in and develop human resources in Viet Nam.

According to Phuong, a number of temporary employees have become permanent staff of the company.

Metro Cash and Carry currently has 19 branches in 14 provinces and cities, with nearly 4,000 employees. Ninety-eight per cent of the employees are Vietnamese people. – VNS
