HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Postal Corporation of Viet Nam (VNPost) earned a profit of VND100 billion (USD$4.6 million), disclosed VNPost General Director Pham Anh Tuan in a meeting on December 18 and 19.

Tuan shared that the corporation and its subsidiary companies reached VND6,350 billion ($295.3 million) in revenue in 2014, which is 19.9 per cent higher compared with that obtained last year. Therefore, VNPost managed to exceed its target by 144 per cent, he further revealed during the meeting held in the capital city.

The parent company, VNPost, gained revenue of VND6,180 billion ($287.4 million) and a profit of VND70,1 ($3.2 million), which indicate a year-on-year increase of 68,9 per cent. In addition, these values reflect that the set target has been surpassed by 167.1 per cent.

Tuan explained that VNPost has exerted efforts to successfully fulfill the set plan despite the difficulties it faced due to the slow recovery of the global and domestic economies.

In addition to its business achievements, VNPost succeeded in perfecting its structure, including the establishment of its DataPost and Viet Nam Post Logistics.

VNPost also boosted the implementation of its public administration service and other services, which benefit both its customers and managing authorities. The services include payment of wages and social insurance allowances.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son lauded VNPost's achievements. He added that VNPost should enhance the application of information and technology in administration and other facilities to diversify its post services. The minister said that the corporation also needs to issue suitable incentive policies for its employees, which will contribute to the corporation's growth in the future. — VNS
