HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Woolmark Company is hosting two exhibitions in Ha Noi and HCM City to encourage international retailers and brands to source Australian Merino wool products from manufacturers in Viet Nam.
The company is a subsidiary of Australian Wool Innovation, a not-for-profit enterprise owned by more than 25,000 wool producers that invests in research, development and marketing along the worldwide supply chain for Australian wool.
Woolmark launched a programme called Out of Viet Nam in 2012 to develop new manufacturing supply chains for Australian Merino wool products. It has engaged with more than 80 partners and transferred technical know-how for manufacturing woollen products to 49 of them.
It has also disseminated information about sources of raw materials and machines and organised international trade missions to connect its project partners with buyers.
The Vietnamese manufacturers make sweaters, scarves, caps, socks, and circular knit apparel.
At the exhibitions yesterday at the Apricot Hotel in Ha Noi and on Friday at the Eastin Grand Hotel Sai Gon in HCM City, Woolmark will exhibit wool sweaters, scarves, hats, socks, circular knit fabrics and garments, along with woven fabrics and suits made by its partners in Viet Nam. — VNS
