DA NANG (Biz Hub) — The central city has begun constructing in Hoa Vang district the largest unbaked brick plant with a capacity of making 110 million units per year.
The plant, in which the Toan Hoa Vinh trading and service joint stock company has invested US$4.5 million, will deliver its first products to the market this September.
This would meet the demand for unbaked bricks following the Government's programme for the development of unbaked construction material towards 2020 and the reduction of carbon emissions in the environment. Da Nang was selected as an APEC city for a Low-Carbon Model Town Project in 2012.
According to a forecast by the Viet Nam Association of Construction Material, the construction industry in the country would need 42 billion bricks in 2020, which would consume 5 million tonnes of coal and emit 17 million tonnes of carbon.
