HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Management Board of Industrial Parks in the northern province of Bac Ninh on December 15 granted licences to two projects worth a total of US$70 million.
Both projects are located in the Viet Nam–Singapore Industrial Park.
Head of the Management Board Ngo Sy Bich said that the $40-million project, of the Unilever Vietnam International Company Ltd, specialises in producing family care products such as liquid detergents, home cleansing substances and fabric conditioners. It has a capacity of producing 250,000 tonnes of products per year.
Meanwhile, the Srithai Vietnam Company Ltd has invested in a $30-million project to produce beverages and industrial plastic products. The project is expected to become operational in the last quarter of next year, generating jobs for more than 150 workers.
Santi Visawa Metekul, Director General of Srithai Vietnam, said that this is the company's second plant in Viet Nam, the first one being located in the southern Binh Duong province.
He spoke highly of the support received from the authorities and the province's investment incentives, and pledged to follow the province's regulations during his company's operations.
With the two new projects, the number of projects licensed in Bac Ninh this year has gone up to 130. — VNS
