Shares continue to decrease

Shares continued to tumble on both stock exchanges this morning, with the HCM City Stock Exchange's VN-Index dropping 0.45 per cent to 470.05 points.— Photo tygiavang
HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Shares continued to tumble on both stock exchanges this morning, with the HCM City Stock Exchange's VN-Index dropping 0.45 per cent to 470.05 points.

However, trading value was nearly triple yesterday morning's level, reaching VND758 billion (US$35.7 million) as trading volume fetched nearly 33.2 million shares.

Among the 30 largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, only Vinamilk (VNM) managed to gain, adding 2.3 per cent. Vietcombank (VCB) and Vietinbank (CTG) closed the morning session unchanged, while the rest of the shares lost ground.

The VN30 Index lost 0.9 per cent to hit 523.24 points.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 60.03 points, a 1 per cent fall from yesterday.

The HNX30, tracking the northern bourse's top shares, also dropped 1.3 per cent to 109.46 points.

Trading continued to be sluggish, totalling just VND61.9 billion ($2.9 million), with 8.27 million shares changing hands. —VNS
