Most Asian indexes close up, except Viet Nam

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian markets closed higher on December 19, though the two local bourses fell on Friday in Viet Nam.

The Nikkei 225 climbed 441.35 points to reach 17,621.40, while the Topix Index added 33.29 points to end the day at 1,409.61 in Tokyo.

Also, the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China increased 51.08 points to close at 3,108.60, while the Hang Seng Index jumped 284.42 points to reach 23,116.63 in Hong Kong.

In Singapore, the Straits Times Index edged up 37.84 points to end at 3,108.60.

At the same time, two bourses in Viet Nam fell, as the VN lost 5.36 points to close at 523.09 and the HNX edged down 1.38 points to finish at 81.32 . — VNS
