HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian markets ended mixed on December 18.
The Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China slipped 3.50 points to close at 3,057.52.
The Hang Seng Index jumped 246.37 points to reach 22,832.21 in Hong Kong. The Nikkei 225 fell 390.32 points to reach 17,210.05, and the Topix Index added 24.31 points to close at 1,376.32 in Tokyo.
In Singapore, the Straits Times Index edged up 16.42 points to end at 3,243.65.
The two bourses in Viet Nam also closed higher on the same day. The VN Index gained 10.23 points to close at 528.45, and the HNX edged up 2.09 points to finish at 82.70. — VNS
