HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Stocks opened lower, but improved towards the end of this morning on the two exchanges, led by the blue chips.
On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index increased 0.69 per cent to close at 541.23 points, while the VN30, which tracks the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, also gained 0.84 per cent to end at 592.52 points.
Liquidity continued to slide, however, with just 41.5 million shares, worth VND657 billion (US$30.7 million) or half of yesterday's level, being traded.
The Financial Ocean Group (OGC) was leading the trading here, with 5.7 million of its shares being exchanged, falling 3.9 per cent to end at VND7,400 per share.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also added 0.23 per cent to finish at 82.74 points on a modest turnover of VND418.4 billion ($19.6 million).
KLF Joint Venture Global Investment Co (KLF) was again the most active code this morning, with 5.3 million of its shares being exchanged, but the share price tumbled 2.54 per cent to close at VND11,500 per share.
