Most Asian indexes climb

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Asian market closed up on December 22 when oil prices recovered on the world market, while the euro touched a fresh two-year low.

The Hang Seng Index jumped by 291.94 points to reach 23,408.57 in Hong Kong. The Nikkei 225 added 13.74 points to reach 17,635.14. The Topix Index gained 3.44 points to close at 1,413.05 in Tokyo.

The Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China also increased by 18.85 points to close at 3,127.45.

Two bourses in Viet Nam recovered on the same day. The VN edged up 14.45 points to close at 537.54, while the HNX increased by 1.23 points to finish at 82.55. — VNS
