HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares closed higher on both national bourses this morning.
The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange gained 0.49 per cent to end the morning session at 564.97 points.
However, the market's trading volume and value were both lower than yesterday morning, with more than 42.2 million shares being traded, worth VND683.3 billion (US$31.6 million).
The VN30-Index, tracking the southern bourse's largest shares by capitalisation and liquidity, edged up 0.59 per cent to finish at 597.20 points.
In this basket, the number of gainers was three times the number of losers, at 16 to five.
The gainers included Military Bank (MBB), Vietcombank (VCB) and Vingroup (VIC), while the shares of the Hung Vuong Group JSC (HVG) and Da Nang Rubber Corporation (DRC) dropped this morning.
On the northern exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.03 per cent to reach 83.13 points, thanks to blue chips' rally. The HNX30-Index, comprising the largest shares, finished 0.08 per cent higher to stand at 158.23 points.
Liquidity was lower than yesterday morning, with more than 16.9 million shares being traded, worth VND210 billion ($9.7 million).
