HA NOI (Biz Hub) ─ Vietnam Airlines has announced an increase of the number of flights between Ha Noi and the northern Dien Bien Province.
There will be four daily flights from May 5 to 11 and three daily flights from May 12 to 18.
The decision has been taken to meet the expected rise in the number of domestic and foreign visitors during the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien victory, which falls on May 7.
Earlier, VNA launched a promotional programme which allows Vietnamese veterans who fought in the famous Dien Bien Phu Campaign to avail of discounted flights between Ha Noi and Dien Bien.
The veterans can buy one-way tickets for VND60,000, or US$2.85, for flights between April 1 and December 1. Meanwhile, the other war veterans can also enjoy a 15 per cent discount on all VNA domestic flight tickets. ─ VNS
