Noi Bai Cargo Terminal Services (NCTS) JSC and Vietnam Airport Ground Services (VIAGS) Co., Ltd, both subsidiaries of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, received awards from Singapore Airlines for their excellent service for Singapore Airlines’ flights to and from Noi Bai International Airport.
NCTS ranked second in cargo station performance, while VIAGS received a service excellence award.
The awards were based on the reviews from passengers on Singapore Airlines’ flights across the world from April 2016 to March 2017. NCTS and VIAGS currently serve seven Singapore Airlines flights per week.
NCTS is the biggest goods service supplier in Viet Nam, working with 23 airlines operating at Noi Bai Airport. It hopes to become the leading goods service supplier in ASEAN.
On the ground, VIAGS is the first business model in Viet Nam specialising in synchronous ground services for airports, reaching international standards at the country’s three major airports of Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat và Da Nang.
The firm has reached ISO 9001:2015, an international standard with requirements for a quality management system, demonstrating the firm can consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
The company has completed the first phase of evaluation for ISAGO ED5, a standard on safety auditing for ground operations of the International Air Transport Association.
Christian Abrecht, the lead auditor, evaluator and consultant of Aviation Quality Services (AQS), a safety and quality management solutions firm in Frankfurt, Germany, said VIAGS is the leading ground service company in Viet Nam and has potential to serve the international market.
With quality service from the ground to the air, Vietnam Airlines is the only airline in Viet Nam supplying traditional service at international quality.
According to the latest ranking of Skytrax, a UK–based consultancy which runs an airline and airport review and ranking site, Vietnam Airlines was 14th among 20 carriers offering the world’s best premium economy class experience in 2017. It’s also the second consecutive year the airline was listed among the top 50 leading airlines in the world.
The ranking is part of the World Airline Awards, voted on by travellers across the globe under the Skytrax survey, which was announced at the Paris Air Show on June 20. — VNS
