Vietnam Airlines on Friday received the 12th Airbus A350 aircraft with the number VN-A897 to join the company’s modern fleet at Noi Bai International Airport.

This is the first A350 aircraft in the world to be painted in the colour representing the brand SkyTeam Airline Alliance along with the logo of Vietnam Airlines on the aircraft’s body.

The aircraft will start operating between Ha Noi and HCM City from April 15. The last two aircraft of a total of 14 Airbus units, which was ordered by Vietnam Airlines in 2015, will be delivered to the firm in 2019.

After eight years of SkyTeam membership, Vietnam Airlines has systematically carried out key projects of SkyTeam on passenger service. Vietnam Airlines’ Business Class passengers and members of its Lotusmiles Programme are entitled to priority services throughout the SkyPriority service chain (priorities in check-in, boarding, immigration and security and luggage screening) at not only international and domestic airports where Vietnam Airlines operates but also at airports around the world, where 20 SkyTeam alliance members currently operate. — VNS
