HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Vietjet on June 22 celebrated the opening of its new international route from HCM City to Tainan.

The airline's first flight to Taiwan connected Viet Nam's southern business and tourism hub to capital Taipei.

The new route is expected to boost socio, economic and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Viet Nam as well as increase regional integration with the world in the future, Vietjet said in its latest press release.

Flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with a flight time of some three hours and 15 minutes per leg. Flights depart from HCM City at 10:45am (local time) and arrive in Tainan City at 3:00pm (local time). Return flights take off from Tainan City at 4:00pm (local time) and arrive in HCM City at 6:15pm (local time).

To celebrate the new route, Vietjet is offering 100,000 air tickets priced at zero dollars from noon until 2pm at www.vietjetair.com.

The promotion is available for all international routes from Viet Nam to South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand, as well as Myanmar and Malaysia, for travel between August 10 and December 31. VNS
