Vingroup to spend $50m on HR training

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vingroup announced the investment of US$50 million on high quality human resources for its healthcare system of Vinmec within five years.

This project will focus on human resource training and scholarships for 1,500 doctors, pharmacists, nurses and medical and non-medical managers in Việt Nam and in the world by 2020.

Vingroup said the project aimed to bring drastic changes in quality healthcare of Vinmec at the international level and create resources for the future medical university of the group.

Specifically, the training would focus on cardiology, oncology, image diagnostic, and surgery, apart from anti-ageing and cosmetic surgery, while Vinmec would continue to develop training in its strength of obstetrics, paediatrics and others.

The scholarships, of which half would go to train doctors and pharmacists, and 25 per cent would be granted to the current medical staff as well as the potential medical personnel in Việt Nam. Once selected, they would be sent to leading countries such as the United States, Australia, Japan, and France, in addition to Germany, to have their master's and doctor's degrees. They would also be taught foreign languages to meet the international study programmes too, the group said.

Last June, Vinmec Times City International Hospital became the first hospital in Việt Nam to receive the international certificate of Joint Commission International (JCI) that promoted the best practices in quality and patient safety in the world. — VNS
