Vietjet has donated air tickets worth VND700 million (US$30,700) to Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund as part of its corporate social responsibility.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Vietjet has contributed to the scholarship fund. By donating billions of dong and meaningful gifts to the youths, the airline continues to help fulfil the dreams of ethnic minority students across the country, Vietjet said in a statement.
Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 on the initiative of the Tien Phong (Young Pioneers) newspaper. In 19 years, the fund has awarded more than 80,000 scholarships to well-educated and well-trained ethnic minority students.
Along with the fund, special flights of Vietjet have facilitated hundreds of students to travel home every year during Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays and summer vacations.
With the aim of contributing to create a sustainable society, Vietjet has organised many meaningful activities for disadvantaged youths in SOS villages and those in social protection centres and vocational training centres for the disabled over past years. — VNS
