Samsung honoured as best brand in Asia

Samsung Electronics has been named the best brand in Asia for the seventh consecutive year, according to results of “Asia’s Top 1,000 Brands” annual online survey.

The survey was conducted by Campaign Asia-Pacific, in collaboration with Nielsen.

The ranking — which aggregates views across 17 major product categories, including automotive, retail, food and beverage, and consumer electronics — is based on consumer insights, and offers a clear measure of the most highly regarded and reputable brand names today.

Steve Lee, chairman cum managing director of Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and Oceania, said Samsung was always committed to bringing numerous choices and experiences to its customers.

Samsung invests US$14 billion each year in research and development to make breakthroughs in new technology and develop products such as Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus, and Samsung QLED TV 2018.

It has also actively contributed to the community. It established more than 170 smart schools and 26 technology institutes across the region.

The study explores consumer attitudes in 13 markets across Asia at different ages, genders and monthly incomes of households. — VNS
