Vietjets CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao visited Ky Son mountainous district in the northern province of Hoa Binh last week and she handed warm clothes and other gifts to the poor herself, after singing them a song.
Thao, also owner of HD Bank, paid the visit January 29 with assistance from Viet Nam Volunteer Information Resource Center, as she brought 1,000 gifts including warm clothes, quilts, sugar and cooking oil to people from ethnic groups in the remote district.
She also had envelops of lucky money, which is a traditional gift for Vietnams Lunar New Year (Tet), for old people and teddy bears for primary school children. She treated each recipient with a lot of care and offered a lot of encouragement.

"We hope we have contributed to giving the ethnic minority community in Ly Son District a warmTetholiday. The officials and employees of Vietjet and HD Bank are committed to continuing to participate in charities and environmental protection activities while further supporting the ethnic minority groups," Thao said.
As the leader of both Vietjet and HD Bank, Thao rarely appears in public, having devoted most of her time to her work schedule. However, she has never turned down offers to join social activities.
Dinh Van Hung, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ky Son District, highly praised Thaos concern for his districts ethnicminorities.
"We appreciate the CEOs meaningful gifts. The warm blankets and clothes she has provided will help the local people endure this cold winter.
"We are also glad to hear that she will continue to support the local people in raising them out of poverty," Hung said.

Care and respect are part of Thao's personal and business philosophy. As such, under her direction over the last five years, Vietjet has become the first choice of many passengers.
The airline welcomed its19 millionth passengeron January 30. In 2015 alone, the airline transported more than 9.3 million passengers, a highly impressive increase of 66 per cent against 2014.
It posted year-on-year growth of 205 per cent in 2015, with revenue of VND10.9 trillion (US$490.7 million), fulfilling the yearly target.
The airline has recently operated 44 routes (32 domestic routes and 12 international routes), with 32 new A320 and A321 aircraft.
The airline also significantly contributed to the country's domestic air transportation growth in 2015, as its load factor remained high at approximately 88 per cent in operating 58,355 flights with an on-time performance (OTP) ratio of 82.58 per cent.
For 2016, Vietjet has set a target of transporting 15 million passengers with an OTP ratio of 85 per cent.
Top priority this year will be given to expanding its domestic network and strengthening its international operations while improving service quality, especially for SkyBoss and in-flight services, in an attempt to achieve a passenger satisfaction rate of 99 per cent and a return-customer rate of 95 per cent in 2016. — VNS
