Tetra Pak is cooperating with AEON MALL Vietnam to expand its programme of collecting and recycling used beverage cartons to AEON MALL Ha Dong and AEON MALL Long Bien in Ha Noi starting from May 27, 2023.
In the south, Tetra Pak has been collecting used beverage cartons from consumers at AEON MALL shopping centres in HCM City and Binh Duong province.
This year, there are six participants joining the programme, including AEON MALL Vietnam, Tetra Pak Vietnam, Polytex Far Eastern Vietnam Co. Ltd (FEPV), JP CORELEX Vietnam Co. Ltd, ECO Vietnam, and the environmental organisation Tagom.
Under the theme of "Recycling Waste - Creating the Future 2023," the collection activities aim to raise public awareness about the importance of waste sorting and recycling, and share recycling processes with the community.
Through a series of events, customers will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as exchanging waste for gifts, learning about waste sorting and recycling methods, and taking part in educational games about the environment specifically designed for children.
Tetra Pak also sets up booths with the theme of carton recycling from May 27 to June 5 at five Aeon Mall shopping centres in Ha Noi, HCM City and Binh Duong Province, where customers can visit and experience the above activities. Inside the booth is a display area for products made from recycled materials.
“Collecting and recycling used beverage cartons is one of the activities that we actively implement to realise our commitment to building a circular economy with low carbon emissions. Through cooperation with retailers, we aim to encourage the habit of collecting used beverage cartons in the community, while helping consumers to access drop-off stations more easily and more conveniently,” said Luong Thanh Thu, Sustainability Manager of Tetra Pak Vietnam.
This is the second year that Tetra Pak and AEON MALL have collaborated to collect used beverage cartons. Previously, in 2022, Tetra Pak, together with AEON MALL Vietnam, Saigon Paper Corporation, and FEPV, launched the "Recycling Waste - Protecting the Future" Festival and initiated an used beverage carton collection programme in HCM City and Binh Duong Province to celebrate World Environment Day.
Tetra Pak also collaborates with other retailers such as Mega Market and various partners to continuously expand the carton collection network. Tetra Pak has established 96 public collection points not only in Ha Noi and HCM City, but also in many other provinces and cities across the country. — VNS
