Leisure carrier Edelweiss, owned by Swiss International Air Lines and a member of the Lufthansa Group, will begin seasonal flights between Zurich and HCM City from November next year.

An Airbus A340-300 will fly directly between the two cities twice a week, allowing Swiss and other European tourists to reach Viet Nam easily and comfortably.

“Viet Nam and its countless leisure activities are very popular among Swiss tourists,” said Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss.

“Swiss vacationers tend to spend more time and money than visitors from other countries. Our flights will bring approximately 10,500 visitors to HCM City a year generating an annual economic impact of more than US$32 million,” Bauer said. — VNS
