Shinhan Bank Vietnam has received the State Bank of Vietnam’s certificate of merit for its outstanding achievements in digital transformation at the 2023 Digital Transformation event hosted by the central bank in Ha Noi on May 18.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, governor of the central bank and also head of the steering committee for digital transformation in the banking sector, Nguyen Thi Hong, top officials from ministries and other government agencies, and representatives of credit institutions, international organisations and the media.
At the event, Shinhan Bank showcased the outstanding digital products and services it offers customers.
With its goal of becoming one of the leading digital banks in Viet Nam by 2030, Shinhan has embraced digital transformation through the successful establishment of the "Future Bank Group" in May last year to increase the use of digital devices in its retail business.
Then, in December, it launched the latest version of the Shinhan SOL Vietnam digital banking application with a more user-friendly interface and exceptional and convenient features.
It has regularly offered promotions to encourage customers to use the app, and strengthened cooperation with reputed partners such as MoMo, Tiki and Baemin to deliver a superior digital banking ecosystem to customers.
Its digital transformation efforts have brought fruitful results, with the number of customers using mobile banking and internent banking rising steadily to reach nearly 1.1 million by the end of Q1.
It will continue to collaborate with its parent bank in South Korea, which has exceptional digitisation capabilities, to progressively send all product lines 100 per cent online.
Recently, the bank received three awards from prestigious international organisations: Best Foreign Retail Bank Vietnam 2023 from Global Business Review magazine, Best Foreign Digital Bank Vietnam 2023 from International Business Magazine, and Best Foreign Bank Vietnam 2023 from World Economic Magazine.
Last month, international credit rating agency Standard & Poor's maintained Shinhan Bank’s long-term rating of "BB+ with a stable outlook.” — VNS
