South Korean lender Shinhan Bank Viet Nam Limited has gifted bicycles worth VND200 million (US$8,690) to 114 underprivileged students in HCM City’s Hoc Mon District.

The bank’s annual charity programme, ‘Bikes Run,’ to empower and support disadvantaged students, has donated more than 700 bicycles in HCM City and Long An, Vinh Phuc and Thai Nguyen provinces over the last eight years.

Besides, the bank’s annual blood donation campaign attracts its management and staff. On December 16 and 17 more than 300 employees in Hanoi and HCM City donated more than 92 litres of blood.

Shin Dong Min, its CEO, said: “We do these activities in the hope of spreading the spirit of brotherhood and compassion in the community.” — VNS
