Saigon Co.op Food Company Limited (Co.op Food), a subsidiary of Saigon Co.op, opened eight Co.op Food stores in HCM City, Long An, Da Nang, and An Giang on December 25.

The stores are offering discount of 20-50 per cent on foods, vegetables, roots, fruits, fishes, poultry eggs, sandwiches, and American grapes to mark their opening.

Co.op Food sells fresh foods such as meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, roots, eggs, and dairy products, including ready-to-cook meals.

It also sells processed foods, cosmetics, cleansing products, clothing, and household utensils.

More than 90 per cent of its goods are Vietnamese, and old under the city’s price stabilisation programme.

The Co.op Food chain has been developing rapidly in recent years because this type of stores increasingly dovetails with urban shopping habits.

Consumers can use Co.opmart membership cards to shop at Co.op Food and get the same benefits.

Besides HCM City, Co.op Food has also expanded in other provinces and cities.

To distribute essential and price-stabilized goods before Tet, it will open four more stores in HCM City and Phu Yen this month, and several stores in Phu Yen, Soc Trang, Can Tho, and Ca Mau in January. — VNS
