CIMB Bank Vietnam and Viva Republica, developer of the Toss App, have introduced the CIMB - Toss debit card.

The introduction follows the success of the CIMB - Toss virtual card in July 2020.

People opening a CIMB Bank account on the Toss interface can now pay for purchases from retail stores with a physical debit card, but one which is contactless.

A virtual card number that is in the user’s phone can be used for online or in-app payments.

Users are able to add money to their account from the Toss app using fingerprint/FaceID and a PIN for added security.

The CIMB - Toss debit card has been upgraded with a variety of advanced technology solutions and benefits including eKYC managed by CIMB Bank, VISA payWave contactless payment, walk and earn bonus cash, and other incentives for users.

If a customer suspects foul play because they lost their card, they can lock it and seek a replacement while still being able to pay with their phone or online with the virtual card number that can be quickly changed and used while waiting for the physical card to be delivered.

If they suspect their virtual card number was stolen by a hacker, they can quickly replace it too. And if they believe someone has gained unauthorised access to their account, they can lock it to block all types of payments and transfers.

All of these can be done in the Toss app with the CIMB bank account settings.

Exclusive benefits include free card opening and waiver of annual fee, cashback when users link their card with an e-wallet and bonus cash when using the CIMB-Toss Debit card for online and physical store purchases.

CIMB Bank Vietnam is a subsidiary of CIMB Group, a leading Southeast Asian lender with extensive experience and expertise in the region.

Viva Republica delivers a full range of consumer finance services within its Toss mobile app launched in 2015 in South Korea.

The app was launched in Viet Nam earlier this year. — VNS
