Saigon Co.op among top 500 Asia-Pacific retailers

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Saigon Co.op, owner of the Co.opmart supermarket chain, has been named among the 500 best-performing retailers in the Asia-Pacific this year and one of the top five retailers in Viet Nam by the Singapore-based Retail Asia Publishing and Euromonitor International.

It has been winning the honours for 12 straight years since the rankings were launched.

It is known for its diverse retail system which includes, besides the supermarket chain, also Co.op food store chain, Co.opXtra plus Thu Duc, Sense City commercial centre, TV shopping channel HTV Co.op, online shopping portal co.ophomeshopping, and SC Vivo City mall.

The Retail Asia Pacific Top 500 awards are based on a survey of retailers in 14 economies in the region, and the selection criteria include retail sales of goods, growth rate, business areas, and the number of stores.

The awards ceremony will be held in the Philippines next month. — VNS
