Sai Gon Beer-Alcohol-Beverages Joint Stock Corporation (Sabeco) has appointed Nguyen Thanh Nam as the new general director of the company, starting June 12.

Prior to this, Nam was Sabeco’s deputy general director and a member of the board of directors.

Nam will now represent the State capital with around 141 million Sabeco shares, equivalent to the charter capital of the company. He also owns 1,800 individual shares.

Since Pham Thi Hong Hanh retired at the end of 2015, the position of Sabeco’s general director has remained vacant. Last August, the position was temporarily assigned to Le Hong Xanh, who is a representative of the State capital, a member of the board of directors and deputy general director of Sabeco, so as to perform the duties of Sabeco’s general director and be responsible for the Sabeco’s executive board until a new person was appointed.

Born in 1970, Nam started working for Sabeco in 1991 and has held various positions in the corporation. — VNS
