Seoul Semiconductor Co from South Korea on Saturday inaugurated an US$300-million plant in the northern province of Ha Nam, the largest hi-tech project in the locality so far.
Covering 7.5ha in Dong Van I Industrial Park (IP) in Duy Tien District, the plant specialises in manufacturing semiconductor products, hi-tech LED systems and spare parts for lighting, electronics, telecommunication and energy saving equipment.
The plant will create more than 3,000 jobs.
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Dong said at the inauguration ceremony that the project is in line with the hi-tech and supporting industry development strategy, as well as the province’s socio-economic development plan. — VNS
