PNJ reports sharp rise in sales, profits

PNJ reported VND11.64 trillion (US$506 million) in net revenues and VND736 billion ($32 million) in profit after tax in the first half of the year, up 50,2 per cent and 67,4 per cent year-on-year.

Its retail and wholesale sales rose by 46,8 per cent and 28.6 per cent.

The company has developed the Style by PNJ brand and distributes Pandora products through its shop-in-shop model, marking the start of its multi-brand distribution strategy to exploit new customer segments and attract those who prefer international brands.

It has also begun a free delivery service within four hours to bridge the gap between online and offline shopping.

Besides, PNJ has joined hands with the HCM City Department of Industry and Trade, the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Producers and others to open 17 ‘Zero dong’ shops – to donate groceries and foods -- in HCM City and one each in Binh Duong, Can Tho and Da Nang this year under “Vong tay Viet” campaign.

PNJ has also donated 2,000 COVID-19 protective suits worth VND500 million ($21,765) to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front in HCM City, organised a blood donation campaign and contributed VND2 billion to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

It donated robots used for disinfection and other medical equipment worth billions of dong to hospitals in HCM City and Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces. — VNS
