Pandora, a Danish jewellery manufacturer kicked off construction of its factory, Pandora Production Việt Nam at Việt Nam - Singapore Industrial Park III, Bình Dương Province on May 16 with an investment capital of US$150 million.
The facility, slated to begin operations in 2026, is expected to produce 60 million pieces of jewelry annually. Once operational, the factory will employ over 7,000 silversmiths. Most of Pandora's products will be exported.
According to representatives of Pandora, it chooses Việt Nam to build the factory because of Việt Nam's attractive investment environment. In addition, the country has many professional silversmiths.
Võ Văn Minh, chairman of Bình Dương Province People's Committee, highly appreciated the Danish investment project and committed to creating favourable conditions for Pandora Production Vietnam in construction and operation in the province.
On the same day, Minh had a working session with Alexander Lacik, Pandora general director of Pandora Group (Denmark).
At the meeting, Minh informed about the fields that Pandora is interested in such as clean energy, human resources, and transportation infrastructure.
In the past few years, there has been an increasing trend of Danish businesses investing in Việt Nam. Previously, the Lego Group invested more than $1 billion to build its factory in Bình Dương. — VNS
