Organica Investment JSC, one of Viet Nam’s leading retailers and distributors of organic and natural foods and beverages, on Saturday opened a new shop at 77B Pham Viet Chanh Street in HCM City’s District 1, its sixth in the country.
Besides opening new stores, Organica also continues to invest in farms to diversify its fresh fruits and vegetables, Pham Phuong Thao, its CEO, said.
She said the market for organic foods has been growing fairly rapidly in the last two years as consumers pay increasing attention to the benefits of organic foods in terms of health, community and environment.
The shop has set aside 80 per cent of its space for domestic and imported organic-certified products, and the rest for products cultivated under the process of transition to organic farming, those with environment-friendly certification and local specialities.
All products have hygiene and food safety certificates and their origins are traceable.
The company also celebrated its sixth anniversary on the same day and is offering promotions during the month.
It now has 10 farms, half of them with certification from the US, EU and Japan and the rest in the process of getting them.
In 2015 its vegetable farm in Long Thanh District in Dong Nai Province received certificates for meeting US and EU organic standards, the first tropical vegetable farm in the country to do so.
The company received investment from the US’s SEAF Women’s Opportunity Fund in earlier this year. — VNS
