Samsung Vina Electronics plans to continue research and development in an aim to provide the best refrigeration technologies to Vietnamese consumers.

Speaking at the launch ceremony of a new fridge in HCM City on Friday, Suh Kyung Wook, general director of Samsung Vina, said: “After 10 years of operating in Viet Nam, Samsung Vina has been making efforts to be the leader in technological innovation in order to bring the best products to Vietnamese consumers.”

Recently, the company unveiled a new generation side-by-side fridge called RS5000 with prices from VND24.9 million (US$1,092) to VND51.9 million ($2,270).

The company said that the new generation fridge, which would be available in mid-May, is equipped with SpaceMax technology which helps increase the inner space but remains the same size.

With SpaceMax technology, engineers have offered more capacity than the average fridge by being smarter with insulation, which is thinner but more efficient. The application of thinner insulation increases capacity by an additional 100 litres.

The new fridge is offered in Viet Nam in two versions, with a capacity of 647 litres for a two-door fridge, and 602 litres for a three-door fridge.

The other technologies, called power cool and power freeze, help the fridge quickly freeze food, while the inverter technology helps users save 50 per cent of power, Samsung said.

At the launch ceremony, Samsung offered many promotions in which consumers will have a chance to win a Galaxy Tab A, a microwave or a juicer. — VNS
