A new online-education platform, TopClass, was officially launched in HCM City on Tuesday, enabling anyone to affordably learn from and engage with Viet Nam’s most successful leaders across many industries.
Innitally launched with the business, entertainment and the arts sectors, TopClass has many teachers who are famous artists and investors in Viet Nam.
Superstar singer Ho Ngoc ha will teach music and artistic development, while the founder of Viet Nam’s first multi-billion-dollar startup, Le Hong Minh, will teach about startups. Veteran actress and star Hong Anh will teach acting, and celebrity fashion designer Ly Quy Khanh and supermodel Lan Khue will teach fashion design and modeling, respectively.
The names of five other instructors in business, media and entertainment will be released in the coming months. The lessons will cover other fields like fitness, brand development and social media.
While an hour of Le Hong Minh or Ho Ngoc Ha’s time would probably cost thousands of dollars, each TopClass is priced at just VND699,000 (US$30).
Furthermore, students can take advantage of an entire year of unlimited access to all current and future programs for about VND1.5 million ($65).
Co-Founder & CEO Erik Davis said: “There are many forms of education which all have value. TopClass’s mission is to enable people to access the knowledge of those, as a result of achieving the highest levels of success, have become inaccessible.”
Davis said that the company is calling for more investment to expand in the future with the target of having 50,000 to 100,000 users in the coming time.
Each programme in the TopClass platform is prepared by an instructor in co-operation with TopClass, including feedback from real students and educational consultants, where instructors teach their methods, mindset, skills, knowledge, advice, experiences and secrets, which would otherwise be inaccessible to the people of Viet Nam.
In addition to being able to register to study on applications on the App Store and Google Play Store, learners can also access and register TopClass on the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB)’s app. The bank is a companion in the distribution of TopClass courses.
Vu Dieu Huyen, deputy director of marketing and branding centre MB, said: “TopClass is a strategic partner of MB. Working with TopClass will help us increase benefits, enhance the experience, and bring opportunities for you to access and learn from successful people in all fields. MB customers will have special benefits when you buy TopClass courses on the app with a gift of 40 per cent of the value of the course.”
According to analysts, online education in Viet Nam and South East Asia alone is predicted to reach $3 billion and $20 billion in total within the next few years. — VNS
