Ha Do Group inaugurated a 50MWp solar power plant in Ninh Phuoc district, Ninh Thuan Province late last week.
The Ha Do Ninh Phuoc plant, covering 58.7ha in Phuoc Thai and Phuoc Ninh communes, uses advanced German technology.
In addition, it also uses Mono PERC monocrystalline panels with capacities of 410Wp and 415Wp from Sunpower of the US, and a 22kV smart substation system incorporating with a 6.3MW converter, helping reduce investment costs and transmission losses.
Nguyen Trong Minh, vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Ha Do Group, said the plant started generating power for the national grid on September 1.
He added it was expected to contribute about 92 million kWh of electricity to the national grid and about VND37 billion (US$1.6 million) to the State budget per year.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, chairman of the provincial People's Committee Luu Xuan Vinh said local authorities have so far handed over investment decisions to 34 solar power projects worth more than VND62 trillion, with a combined capacity of 2,343MW, 31 of which have been put into commercial operation with a total capacity of about 2,123MW. — VNS
