Noi Bai Catering Service JSC (NCS), a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines, has been awarded the best catering services company by Japan Airlines.

This is the third time (2015-2016) NCS has received this award. It is the only one of 41 caterers supplying food to Japan Airlines that has not received any warning about food safety and hygiene in the last five years.

Japan Airlines conducts catering quality testing programmes twice a year. The airline and NCS update information on a monthly basis and share experiences to raise the quality of products following the trend and the demand of passengers to provide a diversified and quality menu.

In previous years, NCS has also received several best caterer awards from foreign airlines, such as Asiana Airlines and China Airlines.

At the end of last year, the company built a new food processing line with advanced and modern facilities that meet all standards issued by the International Air Transportation Association, Medina Quality Food Assurance Services and International Flight Services Association.

The 21,000sq.m. project, part of the master plan to develop Noi Bai International Airport, has total investment capital of nearly VND700 billion (US$30.7 million), with a capacity of 25,000-45,000 portions per day. It is scheduled to be operational by early 2018. — VNS
