Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Thai Nguyen (SEVT), Samsung Viet Nam last weekend celebrated “Teacher Day” for 347 high schools, with nearly 347 principals and vice principals from 23 localities nationwide attending.
This meaningful activity is part of a series of interactive programmes for companies, schools and students aimed at boosting education and recruitment by Samsung Viet Nam at schools.
“Teacher Day” is also an opportunity for teachers to get a fresh perspective of the working environment, daily life and other supporting education activities of Samsung Viet Nam for school alumni after being recruited by Samsung.
“Teacher Day” is an activity in a series of supporting education programmes that Samsung Viet Namhas has carried out for high-school students since 2010.
To appreciate and support schools that help educate and provide staff for the plant, Samsung has implemented the scholarship programme and contributed to the “Development Fund” of these high schools. As of December 2016, Samsung sponsored nearly 11,200 scholarships, valued at some VND11.2 billion, for over 450 high schools of employees nationwide and contributed nearly VND5.5 billion to the “Development Fund” of the schools.
Cho Hoseok, Samsung Viet Nam’s president of human resources, and representatives of 347 schools signed a Memorandum of Understanding on enhancing cooperation between Samsung Viet Nam and the schools. Samsung will proactively support the schools in developing education and recruiting their graduates to work for the company.
Hoseok said “In the future, we look forward to more and more collaborative plans with the schools in seeking human resources and supporting education so as to standardise the workforce of Samsung in particular and Việt Nam in general."
“Teacher Day” is Samsung Viet Nam’s annual activity. Started in 2010, at present, this activity has more than 1,500 high-school principals and leaders participating.
Apart from the programme for high schools, in March, Samsung Viet Nam also organized the SEVT factory tour for 97 college leaders nationwide. — VNS
