At the official departure ceremony of the Việt Nam’s sports delegation for their participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the sponsors were also revealed.
Nestlé Vietnam and the Nestlé MILO brand were formally unveiled as supporting the Việt Nam national team as they compete in the world's greatest sporting event.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the Việt Nam Olympic Committee, hosted the departure ceremony of the Việt Nam sports delegation heading to Paris.
Nestlé MILO, as a sponsor, extends its support to the Việt Nam national team by providing VNĐ1 billion (US$39.5 million) in financial support and Nestlé MILO Barley Milk.
These valuable contributions are personally delivered to enhance the teams' endurance and fuel their competitive spirit.
Furthermore, the Nestlé MILO's endurance and luck medal serves as a source of spiritual motivation and encouragement for the national team, inspiring them to strive for their best achievements. At the ceremony, Nestlé MILO received a well-deserved medal from the Việt Nam Olympic Committee, recognising the brand's support and contributions to the Việt Nam national team and its enduring partnership with Vietnamese sports for nearly three decades.
Đặng Hà Việt, Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports, Vice Chairman of the Việt Nam Olympic Committee, and Head of the Việt Nam national team said: “I highly value these practical sponsorship activities and hope that our cooperation journey will grow even stronger, fostering the development of Vietnamese sports. For many years, the Nestlé MILO brand has not only accompanied sports activities, particularly in schools, but has also supported generations of athletes from grassroots movements to international tournaments like the SEA Games, ASIAD, and Olympics.”

Throughout its close to 30-year presence in Việt Nam, Nestlé MILO has collaborated with agencies and schools to cultivate the school sports movement. They have organised and sponsored numerous playgrounds and diverse sports events within the framework of dynamic Việt Nam programme. These school tournaments have served as platforms for discovering young sports talents, nurturing their abilities, and fostering their perseverance.
With the theme of 'Games wide open - Open Olympics' the competitions will take place from July 26 - August 11 over a line up of 32 sports. The Paris Paralympics will be on from August 28- September 8, with competitions across 22 sports. The Việt Nam national team comprises 53 individuals, 16 Olympic athletes, 7 Paralympic athletes, 15 coaches and 15 experts and officials. — VNS
