QUANG NGAI (Biz Hub) — The Muong Thanh Hotel Group officially launched a four-star hotel on Ly Son Island, 30km off the coast of the central province of Quang Ngai, as part of its 2020 tourism development plan.
The group's Deputy General Director Le Dinh Dong said that the VND200 billion (US$9.5 million) four-star hotel would provide 92 standard rooms to accommodate tourists this summer.
The Muong Thanh-Ly Son seven-storey was built to boost tourism on the island, as guest houses and home-stay services cannot provide enough good accommodation for the 3,000 visitors that descend upon the island in the high season of the summer holidays.

The island's hospitality service, with 18 hotels, guest houses and home-stays, can provide accommodation for only 1,000 tourists at present.
Last year, the central province listed 16 priority projects for the island district's socio-economic development, with a total investment capital of VND2.3 trillion (US$110 million).
The island, which is connected with Quang Ngai Province's Sa Ky Port by high-speed boats, is often overcrowded with tourists during the summer holidays.
The island, 30km off the coast of the central province of Quang Ngai, is home to 21,000 islanders and is attractive as a summer holiday vacation spot. It was connected with the national power grid and internet last year.
According to the latest reports, the Muong Thanh Group is developing 50 hotel projects to provide 6,000 rooms nationwide, which will account for 10 per cent of the country's tourist accommodation needs. — VNS
