The “Motorbike Care Day 2017” event launched on Monday in HCM City offers drivers check-ups and maintenance for their bikes.
Following the event’s success in 2016 with the participation of over 2,500 motorbike owners, the Motorbike Care Day this year was organised by the GS, NGK, Idemitsu and IRC companies with the aim of providing motorbike maintenance information to drivers, with the goal of promoting transport safety.
Starting in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on April 15, the event will be organised in Nha Trang City in the south-central province of Khánh Hoà in June, in Huế in August, and in the northern city of Nam Định in November.
The checkups examine the accumulator, oil, spark plugs and tyres.
Participants will have opportunities to learn how to use motorbike spare parts to ensure fuel savings and safety.
A report from the 2016 event said that 73 per cent of customers did not know how to take care of accumulators, 65 per cent ignored the care of spark plugs and 50 per cent did not choose the correct oil. — VNS
