Korean business group raises $220,000 for charity

The Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry, HCM City, raised over VNĐ5 billion (US$220,000) at the 15th KOCHAM Charity Night on Thursday.

Some 147 South Korean enterprises contributed VNĐ4.35 billion in cash and VNĐ700 million in gifts to be donated to the HCM City Children’s Disability Association, Orphan, Disabled Children Care Centre in Đồng Nai Province, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin Social Protection in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Province, the Social Protection Centre in Long An Province, the HCM City Eye Hospital, the HCM City Children’s Hospital 2, the Thiên Phước Disability Facility in HCM City’s District 4, the Korean Elder Citizen Association in Việt Nam, and the Korean Support Fund.

KOCHAM HCM City has been in operation since 2003 with 800 member enterprises based in the southern and central parts of Việt Nam. — VNS
