HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Knauf Vietnam has signed a strategic co-operation agreement with Zinca Vietnam Joint Stock Company at a ceremony held in Ha Noi on Saturday.

Zinca Vietnam will be the third company, after Ðuc Nam Construction and Trading and J&J Viet Nam Joint Stock Companies, to distribute Knauf products in Viet Nam.

"Zinca Vietnam is a well-known building material manufacturer and distributor in the industry. We strongly believe this co-operation will bring us both leadingmarket positions and much success in the Vietnamese building material market", said General Director of Knauf Vietnam David Victor Thomas.

Knauf Vietnam was granted an investment license to build a gypsum board manufacturing facility in Ðinh Vu Industrial Zone in northern Hai Phong City in 2013. With a total investment of US$40 million and annual capacity of 20 million sq.m of gypsum board, the plant is expected to be operational by May 2016.

Knauf Vietnam has been supplying the Vietnamese market with high quality gypsum board products using German Technology, including StandardShield, MoistShield and FireShield, Knauf Danoline and Cleaneo.

Knauf Group, founded in 1932, is a multinationalmanufacturer of building materials and construction systems that operates more than 220 production plants in over 60 countries with roughly 25,000 employees. Recently, Knauf has been entering markets in Eastern Europe and Asia. — VNS
