HAI PHONG (Biz Hub) — Knauf Viet Nam officially inaugurated its gypsum board plant yesterday in the northern Hai Phong Port City's Dinh Vu Industrial Zone.

One of the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the city with a total investment of 35 million euros. The plant became operational after two years of construction with an annual capacity of 20 million sq.m of gypsum board.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, David Thomas, the general director of Knauf Viet Nam, said they set up an effective distribution network with a strong customer base throughout the country.

"We are currently supplying the market with our locally produced gypsum board, using leading German technology. All of our products have passed the strict requirements of TCVN 8256:2009 and ASTM C1396," he said.

He added that Knauf Viet Nam had committed to providing its customers with a high level of technical support and to helping improve Vietnamese installer's skills.

The plant has been using local materials, as well as the most modern and environmentally-friendly technologies.— VNS
